BLACKMORE PLAYERS

flyer wMERRYMENT and Merry men will be bounding on stage this month when Panto hits Essex.

Blackmore Players take on Robin Hood and Babes in the Wood all at one time, with the annual pantomime later this month.

With the usual stage full of players performing this fast running show by Brian Herring, the action is constant as the evil Sherriff of Nottingham tries to catch the clutch of outlaws.

Directors Craig Stevens and John Hughes, have introduced many surprises into the show that should keep the audiences on the edge of their seats with Kleenex tissues firmly in place to mop up the tears of mirth and sympathy.

Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood runs for five performances starting Wednesday January 22 to Saturday January 25, with a matinee performance, at the Blackmore Village Hall, Nine Ashes Road, Essex CM4 0QW, (north of Brentwood).

Tickets range from £6 to £10 depending on which night, and are available from the Brentwood Theatre box office on 01277 200305

THURROCK COURT PLAYERS

Thurrock PlayersA Mid-Life crisis from Hell is being scratched out for theatre goers with a farce of a man reaching 50 and wanting another ‘last fling’.

‘Love Begins at 50’, will be at the Thameside Theatre in central Grays Town in February.

The last fling is after 28 years marriage and the approach of his 50th birthday, but Clive looks back as life races past without any added sparkle.

He digs into the lonely hearts section of the local paper and selects three potentials, setting up interviews with all of them.

The Yang side of this Ying is his faithful wife, Anita, enters the same newspaper for a competition to find the happiest married couple with the top prize of a Caribbean cruise.

With his wife away, the ingredients are well and truly mixed when Clive is photographed by the local newspaper with one of his potentials, unaware that his wife had won the cruise.

It has all the elements of large numbers of slamming doors and heart stopping moments depending where your sympathies lay.

The play runs for four performances from Thursday February 6 until Saturday February 8, 2014 with a matinee starting at 2.30pm. Tickets at £10 and concessions from the box office on 08453005264, or email thurrockcourtsplayers@live.co.uk
