GETTING IT WRITE ON THE NIGHT

January 27, 2014

Philip Ayckbourn wOne of the many ‘must-do’ items on my list of things to do before 50 has been writing a play.

I have written four in fact – none published or with little hope of being so, However, this Wednesday, January 29 in the foyer at the Queen’s, Philip Ayckbourn will be leading out seven hopefuls in WriteNight.

Philip’s credentials and success bringing this element of theatre to Hornchurch, are well known, and Wednesday will present seven plays performed by Cut to the Chase professionals in rehearsed readings.

Writers, Tony Brown, Paul Davies, Janice Knight, Kath Sayer, Stephanie Firth,  Andrew Shore  and Hollie Hughes, begins at 8pm.

Dealing with subjects as diverse as money hungry developers, gay marriage and first hand account of living with Alzheimer’s, the writing is of a quality born from enthusiasm and need to write, a virtue captured and developed by Philip.

Another talent on show will be the directional skills of Patrick O’Sullivan, Education Manager at the theatre.

WriteNight will be held at the Billet Lane theatre, Hornchurch on Wednesday 29 January at 8pm.

Tickets are £6. To book, call the Box Office on 01708 443333 or book online at  www.queens-theatre.co.uk

ps On a personal note, my apologies for my Houdini act over the past eight days and non appearance of this blog. Man Flu is terrible.
